Non-operating system
I worry that as technology progresses, the only job option available to anyone will be computer operator… no architects, artists, secretaries, just computer operators.
I’ve spent my whole working life as a computer operator. As a scientist, games designer and a typesetter the old grey boxes have been pretty useful. But every now and then, don’t you just want to switch them off and use your own brain and limbs to do something?

Going through the archive in reverse, I think this is one I like the most so far.
I like this one too! Over all I think you have very original and interesting timing. Keep it up! =)
This comic is awesome.
Thanks. I’m glad you like it.
You used one of my favourite phrases, ‘On the lam’ in one of your recent comics. That’s pretty awsome too.*
*quote from The Simpsons ‘Call me ‘mint sauce’ ’cause I’m on the lam’
the boxes were too well worded. I’m grateful my computer doesn’t give me messages like that. I’d suspect it of being of more intelligent then previously considered, and might see it as british, both of which would terrify me.
Sure, give a computer a British accent and it suddenly becomes evil…
…actually, that’s probably true.
You know, that is probably how we will all die.
You need a comma between ‘pens’ and ‘paper’. I was looking for apostrophes and had to re-read twice - we’re not all artists.
Otherwise, an excellent little ditty.
Yeah, you’re right I do need a comma… though in the meantime readers can add one themselves using a permanent marker pen on their monitors.
“We’re not all artists”
You’re right again, we’re not, some of us just pretend to be.
But now it won’t wash off.
