Linear morality

The ’straight and narrow’ a favourite lecture at my school… alongside ‘keep your head below the parepit’. I have yet to find a practical application for either of these.

If you stay on the straight and narrow, you’ll get there before everyone else… but just where are you going? Death, that’s where… and do you really want to get there so quickly?

As for the parepit… if you keep your head down, you’ll miss all of the scenery along the way.

Though I’m not religious, my parents are
According to the religious perspective Straight actually means difficult
So it can wind any way you want it to, but it’s just not going to be easy to get where you’re going

I have to agree with Rachelle in a way, to stay on the straight and narrow I think will take a lot more effort and difficulty than whichever way you feel like. Yet the same can be said for doing whatever you feel like as being easy.
