Who are Tate and Lyle? I guess that’s some kind of British thing…
You’re right, T&L are one of the bigger sugar importers/refiners for the UK. Their founder, Henry Tate was from my neck of the woods too.
He also helped found the Tate Gallery, see here, by offering up his own personal collection.
It amuses me that one of the by-products of sugar refinement is the prolonged support of modern art.
