My grandad had a Man, Myth and Magic book.
I would love to know where it ended up after my Granny passed away.
I’m guessing my aunts second hand bookshop, because I don’t think there was anyone other than me that would bother to read it. : /

Same here really, my dad had a collection of ‘Man, Myth and Magic’ in our loft (u.s. ‘attic’) that I rifled through every now and again. The article on spontaneous combustion was a real eye-opener.

I just like the fact that no one is sure if it really exists, and if it does then they don’t know what really causes it… and even if they did, it would be very difficult to predict who and when someone would burst into flames.

A lot of unknowns for this glorious technological age we live in.

lovely.

i remember the first time i heard of spontaneous combustion was when i was a kid. it was in some book my parents had: a collection of weird stuff like ghost stories and strange occurences. i thought it sounded like the coolest way anyone could hope to die. out with a bang and all that. i have to admit it’s still pretty appealing.

It is a point though, carbon neutral cremations… you should get in there and patent the idea. Sure it sounds a bit gruesome, but worth a try.
