It seems like the only time heights bother me is on escalators, which give me mild vertigo. Also ladders, but they’re rickety and I’m heavy. I have no business on ladders.

The only thing that really scares me is heights, which is why I love being a roof plumber. Adreniline is my most favourite high.

YAY! I am not the only young one on this site. I am fifteen. I really truly horrible at drawing, but I do photography and very very simple writing (so as not to confuse myself any further). I am no poet at all.

I like the satan-cthulhu monster up there. I have to ask though, if it is wearing a shirt, then why is there no end of shirt line, and you see his bellybutton. If it isn’t wearing a shirt then why does it look like it has sleeves?

joe- I wish to shake your hand. well done…you’ve finally discovered what makes sisters and their friends freak out….i shall probably find some way of using this knowledge to my advantage…even if my sister is 20 and doesn’t hide in closets any more.
actually…my sister did a similar thing to me once. i was bored. so she tied me up with a few belts and locked my in my bedroom for 3 hours. or so she thought. I actually untied myself and climbed out of the window, then went back later.
(she still doesn’t know why i found it funny….)

When I was very young my sisters friends were playing a game where they’d shut themselves in the closet and chant something expecting a ghost or something, and when the ghost didn’t come they’d get out of the closet. So I quietly jammed the door shut so they couldn’t get out of the closet and they freaked out. Now I don’t care for practical jokes much but this one was HILARIOUS.

I watched a horror movie once when I was a kid. When the scary parts came on, I closed my eyes. However, the girl next to me described the most horrible events. I had nightmares for weeks afterwards, and was afraid to sleep.
I saw the movie again as an adult, and the horrible things that were described to me didn’t happen. The moral? Always keep your eyes open, or your imagination will get the worst of you.

I’m 14 and I still like dolls….hee hee *thinks of dolls for a moment* but anyway, I’m probably at about the same level as you in maturity, which is something I feel i should be proud of.

I bet there are some teenage readers, just maybe they’re as lazy as me and waited until now to comment!

I’d love to start a comic…I have plans in my head of strips i could do, characters thought out and practicised being drawn..but to be honest, I haven’t the skill nor the *posh words* emotion stability to be able to set up a site or do a strip in a school magazine or something…i get stressed quite easily and with gcses next year…well. *rolls eyes*

I’d love to write reviews or aritcles for magazines. I have many musing trapped up in my head but never a chance to tell them to anyone. I’m a member of a good writing website called TheMuse, where we exchange work and criticise etc. but I may indeed post some poetry here some time. although i should warn you, I’m a teenagers so it’s a bit angst-ridden sometimes.

no, when they go quiet is when I can take the earplugs out. I love my friends, family and teachers….and i know i need to accept blame for stuff i do. but i get yelled at so much for doing nothing that now when someone shouts it scares the crap outta me cos idon’t know what I’ve done any more. silence, as it was said my shakespeare, is the perfectest hereald of joy. (sometimes)

Hello Maddie.

It’s always good when someone decides to comment for the first time, congratulations!

I’m probably more childish in person than you think… I’m still rather fond of Lego, video games, cartoons, staying up late and comic books. That said, compared to how I was when I was 14, I’m practically a fully fledged grown-up.

Y’know, I don’t know if I have many teenage readers either. I suspect I do though, they’re a fairly clever bunch. If any of my teenage readers see this, drop by, leave a comment, it’d be good to know you exist.

Us cartoonists do tend to huddle together. Truth is, if you’re interested in comics these days, there’s no reason why you can’t start your own. That’s why so many comic readers are also cartoonists.

I have no problem with poets and writers… I occasionally write for magazines myself - reviews and articles. I see it all as the same thing really, we’re all just trying to express ideas in a tangible form. You should give us a link to some of your poetry… or feel free to post some here if you wish.

OK, one bit of advice form someone that managed to make it out of teenagedom… you shouldn’t be scared of being yelled at, it’s when they go quiet that it gets really scary.

Hey. I’m finally commenting for the first time.
I’m 14, I don’t know if you have many teenage readers or not but I get the impression you’re all adult-like in person if not personality. no offence meant, I just mean you have wonderfully child-like ways of thinking sometimes. but anyway.
I really like your comic Adam, I check for updates often and they tend to make me smile, so thanks for that.
I understand that many of the other readers are cartoonists, I’m afraid I’m not. I’m actually more of a writer, don’t know if you like us or not, but if you all prefer cartoonists and in fact don’t like writers/poets, I have one thing for you to remember-I’m not flammable in any way! but if anyone here likes poetry, please say, I’m always looking for opinions on my work.

oh yeah, I was going to comment on the cartoon; I’m not scared of monsters, just people…and being yelled at. but you make a good point with monsters have nightmares too.
And Joe-go out there, make those kids cry and remember-they are flammable in every way! :p
