You guys would hate where I live, we have everything that fly’s and bites.
Last week I hit a spider with a pick, but it kept attacking at me.
Seriously I hit about 3 times and I didn’t even hurt it.

I can see what you’re aiming at too, the tempo does increase throughout the poem and your meter is spot on, in a similar way that really good blues music recreates the tempo of a steam engine.

It’s also got a vague Chaucerian feel what with the rhyming couplets and all.

As far making my heart beat faster, I’m afraid not, but that’s most likey because I’ve drunk so much coffee today that it can’t really go that much faster… but your poem is very good… far better than I can manage.

It’s this rhythm you keep hearing
and that beat that keeps appearing
it’s those feet that keep on tapping
all those hands that keep on clapping
and the bells that just keep sounding
as the noise becomes surrounding
all the voices keep on singing
and your ears just keep on ringing
it’s the rhyme you can’t escape from
and the reason you can’t hold on
it’s this you keep on tracking
while in your mind it is attacking
it’s the song that keeps on playing
and the words you can’t stop saying
it’s a beat that keeps on stalking
and your mind just keeps on walking
it helps you to feel alive
as your sense struggles to survive
it’s a song that keeps on going
in your head it keeps on flowing
a heart that won’t stop beating
something you’ve tried defeating
but that tune you keep on meeting
and the one that keeps repeating
it’s just a track in the charts
of which you can’t stop singing parts
and you just can’t make this stop
as it plays in every shop
it’s driving you insane
as it takes over your brain
it tries to overtake you
tries to re-create you
it re-writes the DNA
stops everything you want to say
it’s the words you can’t quit writing
and that battle you keep fighting
the one that gets away
but still it tries to stay
you think that you’re just sad
but you’re really going mad
as your heartbeat starts speeding
at the words you keep on reading
if you ain’t singing then your humming
or whistling or something
your mind told it leave
but that’s the encouragement it needs
you’re getting really desperate
as with friends it keeps you seperate
and the obsession keeps on growing
and your thinking keeps on slowing
this fascination is ascending
with the more you are depending
on this rhythm you keep hearing
and this beat that keeps appearing

but anyway, do i have any volunteers for helping me with my so-called “experiment”? it really won’t take much effort, all you’d have to do would be read it and say whether your heart beat sped up while you were reading it or not. so…anyone willing?

All I need now is to perfect my diabolical laughter. MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

now, I’m conducting a sort of experiment at the moment involving one of my poems. i was wondering if everyone/some of the people on here would like to help?
