Barking into the night
They say that sometimes, when its owner dies, a dog will pine so badly for their company that they will just sit there and starve itself to death awaiting their return.
Cats however, are more likely to eat the corpse of their owner until something better comes along.
And that is the main difference between cats and dogs.

That is why I like cats.
Dogs bug the crap out of me. They’re too damn needy.
Forrest is either a Gump reference, or you mispelled forest. It’s funnier as Forrest. Oh, I just answered my own question…
Isn’t it good, Norwegian wood?
Nope, you’re right, I did mispell ‘forest’, and yes, it is funnier that way.
Golfwidow, I just wonder if the Beatles were referring to Murakami…
I think cats have been given a bad press they will only pine for the person they like - unlike dogs who are too stupid to know if they like the person or not so will just pine anyway.
Norwegian pines aren’t shaped like that :b
Cats get on with their lives, in other words.
Rabbits grieve for their warrenmates, but then they soldier on.

I really don’t see the nobility in pining for someone or dying of a broken heart. All that proves is that you don’t have enough sense of self to live without the validation of someone else’s existence. Grieving is one thing–I totally understand grieving, and being lonely–but pining and ‘dying of a broken heart’ is just a BIT pathetic, really.

This is yet another account of the the faithfulness of a dog !
