The interface
First thing, after the post on Sunday about the Olympic games, I was contacted by Steve Ballinger from the media unit at Amnesty International UK (I think they may be monitoring me over the allegations of using child labour to make the new books).
Steve was wondering if I’d show you an animation they have concerning the human rights issues in China… however, I can’t get the thing to embed on my site, so you’re going to have to click on the picture below, watch it and hurry on back.
What did you think?
It reminds me of those safety videos that you watch at school… you remember the ones, like the ‘Charlie says‘ series. There’s something about using animation that lets you get away with showing the most brutal of things, and that’s partly its power.
Plus, it’s easier to get the kids watching it.

Some might find the above video uncomfortable viewing. Obviously, that’s the point, but always good to warn people.

Ewwww. to both
Thanks for plugging the animations Adam! Sorry the code didn’t work. I’ve been given some “New, Improved Code” from our web person now, should people want to embed the film:
Or you can watch it at http://www.amnesty.org.uk/china
No problem, and the embedding thing isn’t your fault, it’s mine – this site is a little ‘hacked together’ and has trouble with that sort of thing.
Good to know it’s on youtube too, I’ll go and rate/comment it.
And it’s on Youtube, of course: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84GwPS05yPk
Right, that’s enough shameless self-promotion now.
Um, oops
I am gonna have to deny that I ever made allegations of child labour and if you do not cease to makes these outrageous statements, I shall have to refer you to my lawyer, Sir Bobbo.
I hate talking in stereo. I’m committed to a
one-voiced tale.
Monologue. It’s not a disease.
Idealogue, at times, yes.
Falling log.
Seder log. Though I’m not jewish.
Sawing log.
But my heart is monologue. No fooling around.
It’s a little Happy Tree Friends-esque, isn’t it? gets the point across really well though. I like it.
