Oh, and I used blogging software to make my jewelry page at http://www.erikahammerschmidt.com/jewelry . Because I’m not good enough at using other types of content managers. Nucleus blogging software lets you have multiple blogs, and it lets you insert photos into each blog post, so I just made a blog for each section of the jewelry site, and every time I make a new piece of jewelry I can upload its photo and description as easily as making a blog post. (Only flaw is that the search function won’t search more than one blog at a time, so if you’re on the entry page or the ordering page and you type, say, “earrings” into the search function, you get nothing, because those pages are separate blogs from any of the jewelry pages. Oh well.)

Actually, you’ve reminded me of a threat one of my mates made to him. I went into school with a few *cough*five*cough* lovebites on my neck, so that night she facebooked him saying:

“Maddie’s mine, stop eating her! It’s nice to see her so happy, but if you ever hurt her you’ll have a strange dissappearance of limbs…”

Nice to hear things are well with you, despite the attacking plants.

Things are pretty darn good with me. Just in case anyone’s interested, although Roo knows this already, I have a boyfriend now. Two weeks today, whoo! And I know what you mean about the evil conker trees. I just spent an hour or so lying under one with my sweetie, and it dripped on us repeatedly! Mind you, may be the tree’s way of telling us to get a room

Now that I’m technically an artist and all… (i got my studio space sat up last week… photos coming soon).

You are right, the mug is one of the most valuable piees of kit. Everything is better after a brew.

So I’m now living at the top of Clarence Street on Primrose… about 10 doors away from the McWades. Sharing a house with some post-grads (although I’m never there).

How’s things going for you?

I should point out too, that just because something isn’t in my shop, doesn’t mean you can’t buy it.

For example, if you want a large print of any of the comics, or a T-shirt made up… or pretty much anything like that, just ask and I’ll see what I can do.

The reasons I do it like this are that I don’t want to make stuff no one wants, and I like the idea of everything I make being individual in some way.

So, thanks for asking.

Non-technical stuff… that is a great use of a combination lock! I do wonder though, about the intelligence of someone who would let you do that to them. It’s like the old pub trick of getting someone to place both hands flat on the table then placing two full pints on the back of their hands.

(Note to Hollywood: Just because I mentioned it, doesn’t mean you have to make it… please don’t)

However, Halloween is approaching rapidly, and, as such, anything that scares the unwitting is OK by me.

I’ve gone back to school… moved house (again)… and drawn a few comics.

On the subject of Autumn, I was hit by a falling conker on the way to work this morning. The plants are attacking.

A projectile, a murder weapon, a silencer of alarms and screams.

I would argue that throwing the pillow at members of your family when they leave the door open may prove to be just as effective.

I’ve never suffered from car (or any other travel-related) sickness, but I can sympathise with anyone who isn’t able to whittle away a long journey with a good book.

That said, from my understanding, the sickness is caused by travelling without a visable horizon… it disorientates the body, creating motion sickness. That might be a modern myth though.

Didn’t think so. In the end he told us the code and we unlocked him. Somehow I don’t think he’ll use it to lock our schoolbags shut anytime in the future.

So where are you now Adam? And you may be suprised to know that I have booked a few hours in the ACP computer room to spend an afternoon scanning – which maninly includes all the polaroids for the possible second book… only a few years late… x
